At the 2nd cream symposium I presented the experimental documentary
The mobile-filmmaker.

The mobile phone production is an experiment in cinematic communication. The experimental documentary explores the interplay between the new emerging mobile phone video and the industry DV/HDTV standards. The juxtaposition of the video formats reminds us, the audience, of the filmic production existing in any video format.

The video was inspired by and simultaneously critiques the perception of mobile phone video footage in the contemporary media-scape, which is either represented as a new form of indexical realism or has connotations of horror and terror attached to its mainstream media representation. The mobile-filmmaker is investigating and playing with the new emerging visual mobile phone aesthetic.
